John Klotz received his master's degree and Ph.D. in entomology from the University of Kansas, where his graduate research focused on ant behavior. After a three-year stint teaching science at a private school in Kansas City, Mo., Klotz moved to California where he was hired as technical director for Lloyd Pest Control in San Diego.
After gaining valuable industry field experience, Klotz spent three years working as an entomologist at the Center for Urban and Industrial Pest Management at Purdue University. He later joined the USDA-ARA Household Insect Unit in Gainesville, Fl., as a Research Entomologist.
Klotz is currently an associate research and extension entomologist at the University of California, Riverside. He is a licensed operator in Branch II Structural Pest Control in California, and was awarded the Outstanding Specialist in Research for the University of California in 2000.
